Meet the Family Continues – Say Hello to Navneet….
Meet the Family returns with a special edition where we chat to Prima’s apprentice’s and student placement staff.
.
Say hello to Navneet…. Our QA Placement Student who has recently joined Prima to start her year-long placement.
.
Navneet has relocated to the North East of the UK but she originates from India. Did you know it is a whopping 4,758 miles from India to the UK? We process a lot of cheese on a daily basis here at Prima HQ, but it would take a huge amount of cheesiness to cover that distance!
.
We caught up with Navneet to have a chat, here is what she had to say.
Hi Navneet, you have recently started your year-long placement with us, how are you settling in at Prima?
I am settling well at Prima. The QA team and the entire staff is really cooperative and helping me well to settle in.
Can you tell us more about your placement and how Prima are assisting you?
I am here at Prima for one-year placement which will lead to the fulfilment of my master’s degree (MSc Food and Nutrition Sciences, Sheffield Hallam University).
After my first 2 weeks at Prima I realised that I made a good decision as I am learning well here. The team allowed me to choose my interest areas and give priority to the tasks and stuff that I want to do and learn the specific areas.
You originate from India, have you been over to the UK and more specially Seaham (North-East of UK) before? What are you first impressions of the local sights?
Yes, I am from India and have been here in UK since a year now. So, this is the first time I visited Seaham and now I am staying here at Sunderland and I am already enjoying the place. I have seen some local sights in Seaham and totally loved them. Will be going out and explore the space more in the coming time.
Lastly, as we are a cheese company, do you have a favourite cheese?
Since I am from India we do not eat that much cheese there. But now since I have been here in UK I am loving mozzarella a lot.
What do you do in your spare time, do you have any hobbies?
I can’t say any one hobby in specific. I love cooking. Apart from this sketching and drawing are my favourite pastimes.
You have joined Prima during a strange time (COVID-19) how has that been for you and do you feel safe coming here?
Yes, before coming here this was the biggest concern that I had. But at the very first day when I came here I was a bit relaxed after seeing the safety precautions of the company.

Thank you Navneet for chatting with us and being apart of our special edition of Meet the Family. We are looking forward to you becoming part of the Prima family on your year-long placement.
