Last but not least we meet Flynn…
Stepping up next for our Meet the Family and bringing an end to this special edition is Flynn.
.
Flynn joined Prima for a placement year as part of his final year’s studies. He has been here for a few months now and we thought it was an ideal time to have a chat with Flynn and ask him some questions on his placement year and how Prima are helping him.
.
What are your first impressions and what have you learnt so far?
My first impressions of Prima are all positive. All the staff are easy to get along with and always offer help when needed. It is an enjoyable but hardworking atmosphere which I believe will be very rewarding.
Why did you choose Prima?
With the wide range of opportunities here to learn and work, it was extremely attractive to myself. Rotating through multiple departments meant I would get an insight into everything, allowing me to become more experienced.
Did you know about Prima before you applied?
I was unaware of Prima before I applied, however this now comes as a surprise given the size of their operations and their reach worldwide.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Ideally, I would like to hope I have gathered enough knowledge and experience to be able to manage my own department at that stage in my career, whether that be operations or something of a similar nature.
What do you like doing outside of work?
Outside of work I like to follow football, this has always something I have been interested in.
What is your favorite cheese?
My favorite cheese would have to be Mozzarella due to its taste, especially on pizza.
How is Prima helping you to progress with your studies?
Prima has enabled me to get real world business experience, meaning I can put my Uni knowledge to use. I am also boosting my employability as I am gaining valuable skills and knowledge here. This will be of use when completing my University studies as I will have a wider range of knowledge than I would if I were not completing a placement year. Due to this I believe my final year’s assessments at University will be of a higher standard.
You joined Prima during a strange time (COVID-19) how has that been for you and do you feel safe coming here?
Initially I did not expect to secure a placement due to COVID-19 being a major issue at the time. Luckily, I managed to secure a role here. Since I first started, I have had no worries surrounding safety as there are plenty of regulations in place. All of which are in the best interest of the staff.
Which football team do you support, a local North-East team we hope…?
The team I am biggest into following is Liverpool, they have always been my favorite team. I am also a supporter of Hartlepool United given that is where I am from, so I always like to see them do well.

Thank you Flynn for chatting with us and being apart of our special edition of Meet the Family. We are looking forward to you becoming part of the Prima family on your year-long placement.
