2020 – Our year in reflection
2020 – Our year in reflection
.
As we say goodbye to an unforgettable 2020, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the success stories/achievements that our Prima family have risen to and been able to achieve throughout 2020.
.
The year started with exciting news and achievements.
.
- Featured in the London Stock Exchange 1000 companies to Inspire Britain.
- Completion of our site expansion project.
- Prima continued to invest in its people by supporting the annual National Apprenticeship week.
.
March saw the beginning of the virus and uncertainty for the nation. Prima acted swiftly ensuring all health and safety measures were in place to protect their people and site to continue to feed the nation in isolation with their beloved Prima Cheese!
.
- Adapting to new ways of working to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.
- Prima Directors rewarded a key number of employees with a THANK YOU bonus in their April pay for working on the frontline.
- Honoured with a coveted Queens Award for Enterprise in Export, showing outstanding continuous growth in overseas sales over the last six years.
- BRC certificate with an ‘’AA’’ grade accreditation, demonstrating Prima’s commitment to our everyday operations of producing food safe, origin assured, Grade A cheese.
.
Throughout the year, Prima continued to support local businesses and charities in a variety of ways. We were proud to support/partner with companies such as:
.
- The Open North Foundation where we pledged our financial support.
- Food and Drink North East on their Local Hero’s Initiative.
- Supporting local hospice; St Benedicts’s during their annual Sunflower Day.
.
Coming towards the back end of 2020 we continued to adapt and listen to our customers by providing them with a brand-new product they were asking for……
.
- Launched Chefs Choice a brand-new Cheddar option with a big cheesy bang!
- Our Prima fleet also saw a design overhaul with a brand-new modern clean look.
- Prima’s own Commercial Director; Nagma Ebanks-Beni, MBE chaired a brand-new commission established by North East England Chamber of Commerce to tackle discrimination and ensure everyone in the North East has a fair opportunity to succeed in business and in their careers.
.
Here at Prima Cheese, we celebrate the diversity within our teams and embrace the contribution that being inclusive brings to our company.
.
In reflection, yes 2020 will be remembered for one reason but as we can see from above, we have so many positive aspects for the whole of the Prima family to be proud of.
