Training Scheme proves a success
Prima and the Job Centre’s Training Scheme delivers success!
.
Last week we shared a story highlighting our partnership with the local Job Centre and DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) on the introduction of a Training Scheme which took place at Prima Cheese. Over the 4-day course, trainer Andrew Horsman of Durham Employment & Skills delivered personalised training to candidates who would then be interviewed with the potential of employment at Prima Cheese.
.
.
We caught up with Graham to hear his thoughts on how his first week went. “I have really enjoyed my first week at Prima, the staff have made me feel really welcome. I am really enjoying the job.”

TRAINING INSIGHT: HARD WORK PAYS OFF!
.
Graham’s trainer on the scheme, Andrew Horsman explained. ‘’Graham has worked hard throughout the course; he was punctual, engaged, eager to learn and share, his workbooks were completed with tremendous detail, he was always polite, and I have enjoyed working with him. He has earned his place within the organisation and I have no doubt he will be a valued member of your team.’’
.
We asked Andrew (pictured right) more about the training and how it was structured.
.
‘’We have covered several topics throughout the course including: Health & Safety, communication, interview skills, rights and responsibilities and budgeting. We use a personalised learner model, which tailors each course to the individual and the company’s requirements. Our programmes promote independent review, reflective learning, teamwork, self-management, and effective participation. The course units are designed to give learners the essential skills and knowledge to gain employment but to also have a positive effect in the personal lives.’’

OUR PARTNERSHIP HAS ONLY JUST BEGAN!
.
As this training scheme has proved such a success, we will be hosting another training course in February.
.
From the entire Prima family, we want to thank all involved at the Job Centre, Department for Work and Pensions and Durham Employment & Skills for their continued support and assistance.
.
Working in partnership has certainly delivered big rewards and we hope to be able to welcome more people into our Prima Family to join Graham on their cheesy careers at Prima Cheese through future training schemes.
