Congratulations Ronnie!
Congrats to Ronnie Malkin who has been promoted to Deputy Production Manager!
Ronnie joined Prima Cheese in 2013 as a Production Operative where he was responsible for loading raw materials onto the production line, inspecting the quality of the product, packing bags of finished products into boxes and stacking them onto pallets ready for delivery.
We work with our employees to pinpoint their strengths so we can develop them into specialist skills that can be utilised in a way that supports their career aspirations as well as the growth of the company. Ronnie brought a lot of transferable skills to his role as a Production Operative which was recognised by management and given support to develop them.
When Ronnie first joined us, we had a chat with him to find out what he want to achieve in his career. Ronnie said, “I can always remember when I first started and Nima asked me what I wanted out of my career and I said I would like to progress to Production Manager but I didn’t feel like I had what it took. Nima replied if I put my mind to it and work hard you can do anything you want to.”
Since joining Prima, Ronnie has achieved 4 promotions, working his way up to his current role as a Deputy Manager, with all of the skills, experience and knowledge needed to take on the role. We asked Ronnie what he would advise anyone looking to join Prima Cheese, he commented, “My advice would be: work hard and put yourself out there and show the company what you have to offer as there is always room for progression at Prima. Anyone willing to learn can progress.”
Prima supported Ronnie in achieving his promotions through training, mentoring and continuous support from senior managers. Ronnie commented, “From day one the directors have mentored and supported me so I could progress within the company. I have had mentoring and support from Nima, Alex Smith and Chris Stuck just to mention a few and support from other departments to help with my growth within the company. I was also given a choice of courses from team leader, food safety and HACCP and many more to come.”
“Here at prima we are not just staff, we are part of a family and this makes me feel welcome and part of a bigger picture. It’s one of the reasons I feel I have progressed within the company.” Find out more about what it’s like to be a part of the Prima family here.
