This month’s team spotlight is on our Hygiene team, also known as “Alby’s Superstars”, headed up by Albert Doyle (Alby) and Jason Sayers!
Our hygiene team is super important at Prima Cheese. Our team of Hygienists work around the clock to ensure that our production areas are pristine including our high care area, low care area, chillers and warehouse.
In our high care area, where our cheese processing takes place, the team have a robust process in place that includes 9 essential steps to remove built-up debris and remove any potential microbiological contamination in the area.
Each member of staff in this team is trained and observed on a daily basis to ensure adherence to our cleaning process and that we are consistently delivering the required standard across all areas of the site.
Along with cleaning our production areas, we also have general cleaners who cover our reception area, offices, meeting rooms etc.
As Prima Cheese has grown, so has the high demand for cleaning on-site. Over the past 3 years, we have hired an extra 6 team members to support our hygiene team and maintain our gold standard of hygiene as we grow. Alby commented, “We are all from different backgrounds in previous jobs but when it comes to hygiene we have the same desire and drive.”
Alby is always working towards cleaning to the highest possible standard which doesn’t go unnoticed! We had our annual BRCGS audit in 2021 which Alby said is one of his biggest achievements yet, after being told by the auditor that our site was “one of the best and cleanest sites” he has visited.
